Social activities
Social program On Monday, we are all invited by the Banyuls mayor to a welcome cocktail in the garden of the Town Hall at 6:30 PM. On Tuesday, we have planned a visit of the cellar Cave de l'Etoile with local wine tasting at 6 PM. If you would like to join please register on this first Google form by June 7. Wednesday afternoon is free. We have planned a trip on the Navivoile sailing boat along the coast from the nearby harbor of Port-Vendres. If you would like to join please register on this second Google form by June 7. The conference dinner on Thursday at 7PM will be a buffet with tasting of local wines held within the Biodiversarium of the Banyuls Observatory. This will be the opportunity to enjoy a rich display of Mediterranean sea-life and an historical account of marin biology in Banyuls. "Les Matinales de Banyuls": every morning Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 to 8:45 AM, open-air tea/coffee and croissants on the 3rd floor of the Conference center with a magnificent view of the bay. You are welcome to share and record (on paper, audio or video) your memories associated with Jean-Loup.
The Town Hall, Cave de l'Etoile and Biodiversarium are indicated in the map below. They are within a short walk from the Accommodation Center of the Observatory and Hotel des Pecheurs. To go to Port-Vendres we will take the local bus (LIO bus N°540) in front of the Tourist Office at 2:20 pm (1€ the journey).
